City Health Services Office and Smoke Free Baguio City head Dr. Celia Flor Brillantes said they are constantly working to eliminate smoking to enable the people here to be free from respiratory diseases.

City council Committee on Health and Sanitation chairperson Councilor Betty Lourdes Tabanda reminded the people to work together to make Baguio a truly smoke-free city. “Once again, let's breathe in Baguio, stop smoking, and stop vaping,” Tabanda said.

Destroyed items were seized from schools and illegal vendors and disposed of according to guidelines of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

City officials said the destruction aims to show to the public, especially the youth, that the city government is serious in preserving life and protecting them from the harmful effects of tobacco products and achieve a smoke-free Baguio City.
