A total of 15,364 police officers and firefighters will benefit from the “Saludo sa Serbisyo’’ program of the Ayala Corporation which aims to provide specific assistance that includes financial education and employment opportunities, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin “Benhur’’ Abalos Jr. said.
In a statement, Abalos said the program recognizes uniformed personnel for their contribution in the country’s pursuit of progress, peace and order, and public safety.
He expressed gratitude to the Ayala Corporation (AC) for giving importance to those in the unifromed service, especially the 15,364 cops and firefighters, through its ‘Saludo sa Serbisyo’ program.
At present, the DILG revealed that 314 personnel from Philippine National Police (PNP) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) have already availed of the program’s home ownership assistance from 2020 to 2023 while 50 availed the car ownership assistance from 2021 to 2023; and 14,690 attended the financial wellness seminars from 2016 to 2023.
A total of 310 PNP and BFP dependents and retirees also attended and participated in the livelihood training program from 2021 to 2024.
Earlier, Abalos graced the memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing between the AC and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) also for the “Saludo sa Serbisyo’’ program.
As a cohesive needs-based system, the BJMP explained that the components of the “Saludo sa Serbisyo’’ program include “Financial Education, Employment Opportunities, Health & Wellness, and access to Home and Vehicle ownership.’’
BJMP chief Jail Director Ruel Rivera expressed gratitude to Ayala Corporation for implementing this meaningful program for jail officers and their dependents.
"Ang lahat po ng nakapaloob sa programang ito na oportunidad, tulong, at benepisyo ay napaka-laki na pong bagay, hindi lamang po sa bawat isa sa aming mga kawani, kundi maging sa kani-kanilang mga pamilya (All the things that offered in the program are opportunities, assistance and benefits are huge, not only for our personnel but also to their families),’’ Rivera said.
Rivera emphasized that Ayala Corporation's gesture is highly significant to the BJMP with 24,776 active personnel nationwide, “as of today.’’
"More than the package of opportunities, assistance, and benefits in store for us and our dependents under the program, we are more profoundly inspired and deeply moved by your heart for public servants," Rivera added.
