Telecommunication giant PLDT and Smart Communications and TikTok Shop brought experts for the “Be a TikTok Famous Brand” training for these MSMEs.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Iloilo led by Provincial Director Maria Dinda Tamayo entered into the strategic partnership “to provide digital marketing assistance to MSMEs in Iloilo by leveraging the widespread popularity and engagement of TikTok.”
The DTI-Iloilo said the training is aligned with the government’s policy that promoted digital commerce during the pandemic.
Marylou Gocotano, head of PLDT and Smart Stakeholder Management, said the training aimed to boost the knowledge of MSME owners to promote their products online and eventual sales.
PLDT and Smart Stakeholder Management Specialists Samie Gonzaga and Janille Rose Gultiano discussed several topics.
These include the challenges of the pandemic to the country's agriculture industry, marketing for MSMEs, introduction to branding, advanced social media marketing, storytelling for business, creating viral engaging content, basic product videography tips, internet safety tips, and safeguarding policies of TikTok.
John Albert Figueroa, education and incentives manager of TikTok Shop, tackled live streaming, short videos, video practices, and video content guidelines.
