The Bitalacs fled and Mondejar was taken to a hospital where he died on Friday, February 2.
Recovered from the crime scene was a fired .45 caliber bullet.

He said that Aljun is a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent assigned to Mindanao and was on vacation when the incident happened.
Darroca said that Aljun threatened the victim a few days ago. He said the victim was constructing a division in the compound as separation between their houses that led to an argument.
He said the suspects and the victim’s family also had previous arguments that led to grudges.
