From the successful staging of the fourth season of its University Clash to the second year of Philippine Collegiate Championship, as well as the numerous international forays for its esports teams, it truly was a banner year for CCE.

“Itong success ng ating mga programa sa CCE, pati na rin yung ganda ng staging ng ating mga Campus Playfest at National League Finals ng PCC ay nagpapakita lamang ng kagustuhan natin mapaunlad and collegiate esports natin sa Pilipinas,” said CCE president Stanley Lao.

It all began in the CCE Season 4 MLBB tournament where La Salle’s Viridis Arcus reigned supreme after a sweet 3-0 sweep of TFX Nireus of Far Eastern University in the grand finals, serving as the highlight of the final day in the Philippine Game Development Expo (PGDX) at the SMX Convention Center.

The Lasallian crew also went on to fly the country’s colors in the Campus Legends MLBB tournament during the Singapore Game Fest.

Showcasing its pedigree over the competition, the green side trounced Institute of Technical Education from Singapore, 2-0, to bag the SGD2,500 prize in cash and scholarship.

Jed James “Bobps3” Soriano from De La Salle University – Dasmariñas also came away with the silver in the Street Fighter 6 tournament, bringing home SGD600 in cash and scholarship.

Next Gen Program winners Marlon Mattew Apilado and Czyra Jane Mangahas of Lyceum of the Philippines University, Shane Marcial Andoque from the University of Santo Tomas, and Valerie Byczko of Enderun Colleges also participated in the event staged by the Singapore Cybersports and Online Gaming Association (SCOGA).

Meanwhile, a new king was also crowned in the MLBB PCC Season 2 with Luzon qualifier Panthera Esports of Systems Plus College Foundation claiming the title after a 3-1 victory over the NU Bulldogs during the National League Finals.

Over at Call of Duty: Mobile tournament, the Mapua Cardinals took down SAGE Ultimate of the University of San Agustin - Iloilo, 3-0 to also bag the national championship.

For Lao, it only reflected CCE’s passion and goal of boosting the collegiate esports scene.

“Nakikita natin na ang ating mga students ay talagang may talent at kaya mag-compete internationally at through CCE and PCC, nabibigyan natin sila ng opportunity mag-shine,” he said.
