Don't expect former president Rodrigo Duterte to get another invite from the House quad-committee (quad-comm).
Quad-comm overall chairman Surigao del Norte 2nd district Rep. Robert Ace Barbers said that as far as Duterte goes, the mega-panel has already squeezed ample information from him.
This means that the ex-president's appearance before the quad-comm on Nov. 13 was his first and last.
"No need na siguro [na pabalikin] (I think there's no need to call him back)," Barbers told House reporters.
"Because yong 12-hour, 13 hours na meeting natin sa kanya basically yon na yong gusto nating marinig, a little more than what he revealed or what he admitted in the Senate," he said.
(We basically heard everything we wanted to hear during the 12-hour, 13-hour meeting with him, it was a little more than what he revealed or what he admitted in the Senate.)
"So sa tingin ko, sufficient na yon (So I think that's already sufficient)," added the Nacionalista Party (NP) stalwart.
Duterte, 79, also gave a lengthy testimony on Oct. 28 before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.
The quad-comm and blue ribbon panel are both investigating the bloody drug war of the previous Duterte administration.
The quad-comm launched its series of hearings back in August. After a couple of months, the blue ribbon panel began a parallel probe.
The next quad-comm hearing is scheduled on Dec. 12. Barbers said the mega-panel will continue to hold hearings next year.
