Binangonan women’s group cited for pro-environment advocacy

A women's group in Binangonan, Rizal which is known for advocating women empowerment has gained recognition from the local government for its pro-environment advocacy.

The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) cited the Barkadahan ng mga Kababaihan ng Binangonan (BKB) for its projects such as solid waste management and urban gardening.

PCW Chairperson Ermelita V. Valdeavilla congratulated the BKB for rallying the women sector in the municipality in practicing the solid waste management, segregation, and urban gardening, among others.

The BKB, headed by Binangonan's First Lady, Dr. Rose Martha Callanta Ynares, has been actively involved in waste reduction, recycling and greening programs in the town's villages.
