Korean engineer proposes to fiancée from Quezon with Manila Bay sunset as backdop

LUCENA CITY – Manila Bay is many things to many people and the bay is just as a perfect place as it can be for this Korean engineer named Rob Heeyun Yang. For him, Manila Bay, which earned a place in history after one of the biggest battles in the past happened, is indeed a perfect one to propose to his girlfriend, Irish Khay Florido. Florido, a Filipina-Australian nurse who works in Australia, is a native of General Luna, Quezon. She happens to be a younger sister of Mayor Matt Erwin Florido of General Luna. Rob and Irish first met on an online dating app where they started knowing each other. According to Mayor Florido, Rob’s plan was simple yet breathtaking. Knowing full well the magnificent sunset and picturesque backdrop of the bay, the Korean, according to the mayor, chose Manila Bay to create a memorable moment. As the Sun began to dip below the horizon and bathe the calm water of the historic bay, Rob, on one bent knee, offered an engagement ring to Irish in a recognizable romantic gesture. Rob was visibly and easily the happiest man that moment as could be gleamed from the way he recounted to the Manila Bulletin his marriage proposal to Irish. He said the situation was filled with emotion as Irish accepted his proposal, and the two basked in the splendor of their love, with the Manila Bay serving as the backdrop. In the end, Mayor Florido admitted it was he who proposed to the couple that Manila Bay was indeed a unique and unforgettable place for a man to propose marriage. The bay is not just a symbol of resilience, but it is also a symbol of hope and new beginnings. It is the perfect destination to create memories that would last a lifetime. “Whether you are a local or a tourist, Manila Bay is a must-visit destination. It is the perfect place to celebrate love, heal old wounds, and create new beginnings,” said Mayor Florido. Rob and Irish's engagement at Manila Bay is a testament to this, and their story hopefully would serve as an inspiration for anyone who believes in the power of love to heal and bring new beginnings, added Mayor Florido. According to Mayor Florido, he told the couple “why not make your proposal unforgettable?” “Take your loved one to Manila Bay and experience the beauty and magic of this romantic destination.
