Student with explosive causes sudden interruption of classes in Negros school
BACOLOD CITY – Classes were suspended at Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School in Barangay Zone 12, Talisay City, Negros Occidentalafter one of their students was caught with an explosive inside the school’s premises on Tuesday, April 4.
Policemen arrested Bronson Lucas Lacson, 21, of Barangay Zone 6.

Lt. Abegael Donasco, deputy chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said that a pedicab driver reported to a barangay official that a junior high school student allegedly attempted to hit him with an explosive, following a misunderstanding between them. When police responded to verify the report, they recovered from Lacson a hand grenade which was kept in his underwear while a suspected marijuana worth P120 and a tooter were also recovered from his pocket, Donasco said. Donasco said the students were immediately advised to vacate the classrooms as authorities checked the school for a possible threat as part of the standard operating procedure. Donasco said they have no idea yet how the student was able to possess the explosive. This will be part of our investigation, she added. Charges for grave threat, illegal possession of explosive, and illegal possession of dangerous drugs will be filed against the student who is detained at the police station, according to Donasco.
