P5-M good governance reward turned over to a Zamboanga del Norte town

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Regional Office 9 said it has turned over the P5 million 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Incentive Fund to the municipality of Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte.
DILG Regional Office 9 Director Paisal O. Abutazil said the ceremonial cheque was personally received by the Mayor Cecilia J. Carreon.
The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) is a recognition-based program for all local government units and is a continuing commitment for the localities to continually progress and improve their performance.
The municipality has been a five-time recipient of SGLG for the assessment periods 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
Abutazil congratulated the LGU awardee for its good governance performance.
Meanwhile, the Local Government Capacity Development Division (LGCDD) of the DILG Regional Office 9 conducted the LGCDD After-Implementation Review and Stacking Session cum Planning Conference.
The activity provided a platform for the LGCDD personnel to harvest valuable insights from the implementation of their programs in 2022 and determine key operational strategies to sustain and even exceed current performance.
Aside from Abutazil, Assistant Director Carmelo Enrique B. Libot, Planning Officer Designate Catherine B. Daan, LGCDD chief Alvin Rex M. Lucero among others attended the activity. (Chito A. Chavez)
