Light Rail Manila Corporation and PopBox Asia tie up with Airspeed for contactless delivery

Airspeed continuously provides innovation on logistics to address the different needs of clients and end users. Their newest service offer -- PopBox, powered by Airspeed, are smart lockers located in LRT-1 stations poised to offer efficient and contactless delivery service.

These smart lockers were brought in to the Philippines by PopBox Asia, in partnership with Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), and Airspeed as the official logistics partner who will be offering this new fulfillment option to their clients.

This tie-up was put into signing on January 30, 2022 and was led by Airspeed Group’s Chairperson Rosemarie P. Rafael,  Airspeed International’s President & CEO Mariz C. Regis, LRMC’s President and CEO Juan F. Alfonso, and LRMC’s Head of Business Development John Kelly Tan. The contract signing event was held at the LRMC Head Office - Engineering Building, LRTA Depot, Aurora Boulevard, Pasay City.

“We are proud to be part of bringing this new technology which provides convenience and time-efficiency for our clients’ customers. Airspeed always aims to make it happen for our stakeholders – from creating a better online shopping experience (for fulfillment) to faster, more efficient and convenient documents and parcels sending and delivery. This will now help address the different fulfillment issues that we encounter,” says Airspeed Group’s Chairperson Rosemarie Rafael.

LRMC President and CEO Juan F. Alfonso shares, “The LRMC team is passionate about innovation. Driven by our shared mission to enhance the commuter experience and make it truly world-class, we want to make commuters feel like they are in a station that they might go to in other countries. We aim to give our passengers a glimpse into our future, and we’re glad to partner with the Airspeed Group in making part of this vision happen.”

PopBox, powered by Airspeed is set to be officially launched this February 2023. Long queues for picking up packages will soon be avoided, and will also enable easy consumer package returns in the next phases.
