P!nk is disappointed with the press she’s been getting of late.
The “Just Give Me A Reason” singer put out a lengthy post yesterday on Instagram relating her dismay about the media focusing on a “silly feud” she had with Christina Aguilera two decades ago instead of her new album, "Trustfall."
In one of the interviews she did after the new album was released, she was asked to rank her music videos in which the singer put the video of “Lady Marmalade” at the bottom of her list.
Said video featured her with Mya, Lil Kim and Christina Aguilera.
P!nk commented, “There were some personalities. Kim and Mya were nice.”
Some said P!nk was throwing shade at Aguilera.
To which P!nk responded on twitter: “I’m not ‘shading’ someone by telling it over and over and over what actually happened. I’m zero interested in your f***ing drama.”
Which led to her lengthy post last Sunday.
“I’m so disappointed by the narrative surrounding some of the press I’ve been doing around my album Trustfall,” she wrote.
“While some of the responsibility lays with me and my inability to lie, and my uncanny ability to overshare --my real disappointment lies in the fact that art can never be the focus when you’re a woman,” P!nk said.
She went on to add, “The fact that I created one of the best albums with the most beautiful people-sang my ass off…the only thing they ask you about over and over is a silly feud from your twenties.”
“I wonder when was the last time Bradley Cooper or Robert De Niro were asked in interview after interview about any argument they’d ever had. How about Christian Bale? We stick to the art with them, don’t we? I’d like to have the same opportunity,” P!nk wrote in her post.
P!nk went on to say that her “wish is to share the pains and the celebrations of this messy life through music and on stage. And I’ve accomplished that. Incredibly and consistently.”
The singer inevitably addressed Aguilera.
“To Christina – you know where we stand. Resolved. Onwards and upwards.”
“Trustfall” debuted at the number 2 spot on the Billboard 200 album charts.
