National University is seeking to stretch its winning run to 20 games when it faces Adamson in the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday, March 1, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Lady Bulldogs (1-0) are set to meet with the Lady Falcons (1-0) in the first offering of the quadruple-header at 10:00 a.m.

The defending champion opened its title-retention campaign the only way it knew how — with a sweep of Ateneo last Feb. 25, with middle blocker Alyssa Solomon showing the way in the dominant victory.

Meanwhile, De La Salle (1-0) is gunning for a second straight win at the expense of University of the Philippines (0-1) in their 4 p.m. encounter.

Last season’s finalist Lady Spikers also kicked off their redemption campaign on the right footing after slipping past University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses in an extended showdown last Feb. 26, with rookie Angel Canino leading the way for La Salle in her UAAP debut.

In the earlier play, Far Eastern University (1-0) and UST (0-1) are set to clash at 12 p.m. after coming off contrasting results in their respective season-opening affairs.

Debuting head coach Tina Salak and sophomore playmaker Tin Ubaldo conspired to help the Lady Tamaraws arrest their 11-game slide dating from last season, however, the celebration would not last for much longer as the Eya Laure-led Golden Tigresses are equally eager to bounce back from their painful opening loss.

On the other hand, Ateneo (0-1) and University of the East (0-1) will attempt to put themselves in the win column in their 2 p.m. tussle.

The Blue Eagles couldn’t get their winning start following a beating from the Lady Bulldogs while the Lady Warriors suffered the same fate in their opening salvo.
