Love isn’t just contained in a specific day, and for singer-songwriter Adjeng, it should be celebrated everyday. As she plots out her year as a musician on a mission, she drops her new single “Must Be Love."

The pop track offers an honest and in-depth take of relationships, laced with groovy rhythm. With a vision in mind for the song, Adjeng approached seasoned musicians to work with her. “I approached JC Magsalin, my band mate who plays bass and does orchestrations and musical arrangements. I also tapped Krina Cayabyab to do back-up vocals and back-up vocal arrangement.”

True enough, the results of their work never disappoint. With live events in full swing, she has been performing for both private gatherings and non-profit organizations, and is set to do more shows. “Performing again live and being able to interact with audiences on-site is so refreshing,” she states. Along with live shows, she continues her mission as the first musician-ambassador of mental health organization Mind Nation.

Adjeng took inspiration from her personal relationship for the track. “My husband and I are celebrating 18 years of being together and 16 years being Mr. and Mrs. And we know very well that marriage is always a work in progress,” she says.

The devout Christian also fuses the biblical description of love, and worked from there to put out an easy-listening song. With celebrities getting engaged and married in a short span of time, Adjeng also shares her view about the trend.

“I honestly believe it is important to not only feel “love” for someone, but also to genuinely like the person as a friend first. It’s not so much as having a long or short engagement, but more of having an authentic friendship, a shared faith, common values, apart from attraction, that makes two people grow even more in love,” she ends.

Adjeng's “Must Be Love” is out now on major streaming platforms.
