Few days before the celebration of Valentine’s day, the public can show their love through “budget friendly activities” that can help keep their special someone safe from Covid-19, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

Since safety remains a priority amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the DOH came up with four simple ideas to keep yourself and your partner entertained and safe during this occasion.

One way to celebrate Valentine's day is by getting Covid-19 booster shots together, the DOH said.

“Libre lang ito at siguradong protektado ka at ang mahal mo sa buhay kontra Covid-19 (It's free and this can protect you and your loved ones against Covid-19),” the DOH said.

Couples may also spend their time in open spaces such as in public parks.

“Bukod sa libre, nakakatulong pa sa mental health ang pagpunta sa green spaces (Aside from being free, going to green spaces has positive effects on people's mental health),” the DOH said.

“Ang malusog na mental health ay susi sa malusog na relasyon (A good mental health is key to a healthy relationship),” it added.

Lovers can also plan a movie night from the comfort of their own home, the DOH said.

“Hindi kailangang lumabas at gumastos para ipakita ang pagmamahal. Sapat na ang quality time (There's no need to go out and spend to show love. Quality time is enough),” the DOH said.

Lastly, couples can do activities that promote a healthy lifestyle or learn a new skill.

“Matuto ng bagong skills together. Tulad ng pagluluto ng masustansyang pagkain o bagong sports para maging (Learn new skills together such as cooking healthy food or trying new sport activities to be) fit and healthy together,” the DOH said.
