Fresh from their viral live streams on Youtube, Gigi de Lana and The Gigi Vibes band are excited to be performing in a live venue for their "G Rules" concert in the Theater at Solaire on Feb. 18. The group said they are keeping their song lineup under wraps, but what they can assure the crowd is they will like it and they will have fun.

"The repertoire is a surprise. Gusto kasi namin may pasabog every time," Gigi noted.

The Gigi Vibes revealed that they're happy and excited to have a post-Valentine concert in a major venue like The Theater at Solaire. "This is a dream come true because not everyone is given the chance to have a Valentine concert here," they chorused.

Aside from sultry lead vocalist Gigi, Gigi VIbes is composed of Jon Cruz, Jake Manalo, Julius Traqueña and Romeo Marquez. Their chemistry is unmistakable up close. This probably stems from the fact that they have known each other for more than a decade. Although they gained fame during the pandemic for their song covers, not many people know that they were also a band in the past performing at weddings.

The question is often asked whether Gigi Vibes members are prepared to be orphaned if Gigi goes solo in her career, as she is the one getting more offers.

In a media conference for their G Rules concert, Gigi assured that she is not leaving the group anytime soon.

"My band members are right not to feel worried because I don't make ever make them feel insecure. I will not leave Gigi Vibes just because of offers. I tried going solo before but it just doesn't work for me. Being with the group gives me energy, it's more fulfilling," she narrated.

"It's not really just about money," said bass player Jake. "Yung sarap pagkatapos tumugtog, yung hindi ka makatulog or hindi ka makakain because you still have the natural high. Yun ang hindi nababayaran ng pera."

Aside from her fellow band members which she considers family, Gigi goes emotional on the subject of her 54-year-old mom Imee who is suffering from Stage 4 breast cancer.

She expressed surprise at how cutting her hair short became an issue for some people.

"My mom went bald because of her chemo then when her hair was starting to grow out again, I wanted to join in her journey by cutting my long hair to match hers," she revealed. Gigi added that she even toyed with the idea of having a skinhead haircut, but she was afraid that it might not sit well with some clients in showbiz.

"Then there were other people who made the comment that 'you should have told us it was for your mom.' You know, the main reason why I didn't tell anyone is that if it reaches my mom, she will engage in self pity, which I don't like. True enough, she told me 'I wish you didn't cut your hair because some people didn't like it,' " the singer explained.

"Gusto ko lang sabihin na sa buhay ng tao, wag na kayong mangialam kasi choice nila yun eh. Pinakialaman ko ba kayo? No. It's your choice and you are still beautiful kahit anong choice mo," she noted.

(I say we should just stop meddling in the lives of other people because it's their choice. Did I meddle in your affairs? No. It's your choice and you are still beautiful no matter what choice you make.)

It was in 2021 when reports came out that Gigi's mom had Stage 2 cancer. When asked about her mother, Gigi replied that " she's surviving. She's now in the acceptance stage and she's fighting."
