The Las Piñas City Health Office (CHO) conducted free x-ray examinations on city residents aimed at detecting cases of pulmonary tuberculosis on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar said she and Vice- Mayor April Aguilar initiated the project to ensure that city residents are free from tuberculosis which is a contagious disease.
She said the free x-ray will help in the early intervention and management of the disease.
The mayor said the CHO conducted case-finding by conducting free x-rays and sputum collection.
The service was offered free to senior citizens and children aged 15-years-old.
She said the program will serve the city's 20 barangays.
The mayor said residents who have tuberculosis based on the x-ray results will immediately undergo sputum examination and will be referred to barangay health centers for treatment and observation.
