Five hold-uppers arrested in Laguna


KAMPO HEN. PACIANO RIZAL, Sta. Cruz, Laguna -- Five hold-uppers were arrested in a coordinated follow-up operation conducted by Alaminos, Laguna, and Dasmariñas, Cavite Municipal Police Stations on Monday early morning, Feb. 6.

Police Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio, acting provincial director of the Laguna Police Provincial Office, identified the suspects as Romeo, Joel, Jerwin, John, and Albert.

A report by Capt. Edwin R Goyena, chief of Alaminos police, said that around 2:20 a.m. victims came to the Alaminos Police Station to ask for Police Assistance regarding the robbery and carnapping incidents.

The Alaminos Police immediately launched a follow-up operation and coordinated with the Dasmariñas Police which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.

Confiscated from the suspects were a white Honda beat motorcycle, an iPhone 11 pro, a wallet containing ID’s and P300 cash, a Real Me Cellphone, a Keeway SYM motorcycle, a toy gun (Pellet Gun), butterfly knife (balisong), a double-bladed dagger and P500 cash.

The suspects are currently in the custody of the Alaminos Philippine National Police and are facing criminal charges of robbery with force and intimidation and car-napping.

“With the cooperation of our citizens and the quick action of our police, we will be able to ensure peace in the province of Laguna, so I urge you to immediately report to our police lines if you received information of any crime,” said Col. Silvio.
