CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Twenty-nine individuals, including three most wanted, were arrested as a result of an intensified region-wide manhunt operation conducted in Cordillera from Jan. 29 to Feb. 4.
Records from the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) for the week showed that Baguio City Police Office (CPO) arrested 11 wanted persons, the most in the region. It was followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) with eight arrests, Ifugao PPO with four arrests, and Abra PPO and Kalinga PPO with three arrests each.
Three of the arrested individuals were listed as most wanted, including one at the regional level and two in the provincial level.
Regional director Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar said that as a result of an intensified police visibility and campaign against criminality, 60 municipalities in the different provinces of the region and two police stations in Baguio City remain peaceful with zero crime incidents during the same week.
Zero crime incidents were recorded in the 24 municipalities of Abra, eight municipalities each in Benguet and Ifugao, nine municipalities in Mt Province, six in Kalinga and five in Apayao.
Kennon Road Police Station 8 and Marcos Highway Police Station 10 also recorded zero crime incidents out of 10 police stations in Baguio City.
