DOH records 1,012 new Covid-19 cases during the past week


The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Monday, Feb. 6 a total of 1,012 new Covid-19 cases recorded during the past week.

In its weekly case bulletin, DOH said that the daily average cases are currently at 145 which is 16 percent lower than the cases on Jan. 23 to Jan. 29.

DOH recorded zero new cases tagged under severe and critical cases. Currently, there are 388 severe and critical admissions which is 9.0 percent of total Covid-19 admissions.

On the other hand, 288 out of 2,030 or 14.2 percent of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds are being used, while 3,449 out of 17,627 or 19.6 percent of non-ICU beds are being utilized.

Meanwhile, DOH also verified 85 more deaths due to Covid-19 during the past week. It mentioned that 11 deaths occurred on Jan. 23 to Feb. 5.

Of the 85 deaths, 22 occurred in January 2023, five in December 2022, three in November 2022, two in March 2022, four in February 2022, 12 in January 2022, one in December 2021, two in November 2021, eight in October 2021, five in September 2021, five in August 2021, five in July 2021, three in June 2021, three in April 2021, one in March 2021, two in February 2021, one in December 2020, and one in September 2020.

In terms of Covid-19 vaccination, a total of 73,846,307 individuals have been fully vaccinated while 21,390,548 have received boosters or additional doses.
