NUEVA ECIJA – An Amazon leader affiliated with the Alyansang Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon-Nueva Ecija (AMGL-NE) surrendered to the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company Nueva Ecija Police Office (PMFC NEPO) Headquarter in Cabanatuan City, report said Friday, Feb 3.
Colonel Richard V Caballero, acting provincial director of the Nueva Ecija Police Office, said that joint elements of Philippine National Police and the military facilitated the voluntary surrender of the rebel whose name was withheld for security reasons.
She was a former Member of Larangang Gerilya sa Patag 1 and a member of AMGL-NE Chapter, Women Peasant Sector.
The woman is now under the custody of 1st PMFC NEPO Headquarter for safekeeping and documentation.
“We encourage those who would like to return to folds of the law and embrace the government to surrender and live a normal and peaceful life with their loved ones,” Colonel Caballero said.
