Valenzuela City 1st district congressman-turned-Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian paid a courtesy call to House Speaker Martin Romualdez on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
The courtesy call took place inside Romualdez's office at the House of Representatives in Quezon City.
Incidentally, Batasan Complex, home of the House of Representatives, is located near the head office of DSWD.
Romualdez had earlier said that the loss of Congress was the gain of the DSWD as he attested to Gatchalian's competence and capabilities as a public servant.
Gatchalian had to vacate his House seat following his appointment to the Cabinet.
