BACOLOD CITY -- A couple was arrested after they allegedly yielded 52 grams of shabu worth P353,600 during a buy-bust operation at Sitio Pulo, Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Arrested were Ma. Chin-Chin Grace Cuadra, and her live-in partner Jeffrey Fuentes, 24. Both are residents of Barangay Mambulac.
Capt. Judesses Catalogo, spokesperson of Negros Occidental police, said the suspects are considered high value individuals in Silay City.
Police also confiscated from them the P7,500 marked money, a .45 caliber firearm, a magazine, and 15 ammunition.
Capt. Jonito Pastrana, head of Police Station 2, said that a certain ‘Chin-Chin Cuadra’ was included in a list of personalities with drug links here.
The list includes 21 names, including an identified dead person whose two hands were severed and dumped in a garbage area in Barangay 2 here last month.
Pastrana said that it is possible that the Cuadra in the list is the same person that was arrested in Silay City.
However, Catalogo said the suspect denied that she is the person that was in the list, although she claimed that she was a resident here before transferring to Silay City.
Catalogo said it would be hard for the police to prove that she was among those persons in the list for lack of specific details stated about them.
