Stephan Loman fires back at Fabricio Andrade: ‘He can talk all he wants’

Stephen Loman (ONE Championship)

Stephen “The Sniper” Loman doesn’t want to dwell on the backhanded compliment that he received from ONE Bantamweight World Title contender Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade

Andrade, who takes on John “Hands of Stone” Lineker in a rematch for the vacant ONE Bantamweight World Title at ONE Fight Night 7 on Feb. 25, admitted that Loman deserves a title shot next, but also claimed that he wasn’t really impressed with how the Filipino has been performing.

The Brazilian dynamo called Loman “boring” and said the Team Lakay man beat an old Bibiano Fernandes. “The Sniper,” however, doesn’t really care about his opinions.

“He can talk all he wants, that’s his style. But when we meet, he’s gonna feel what it’s like to face me,” he said.

“I’m just letting it be. He can talk all he wants. I still look at him in high regard. He’s a very good fighter.”

For now, his focus is on making sure his conditioning is paramount should he get a crack at the winner of Lineker - Andrade II.

“I have to build on my stamina and work on my explosiveness. Championship matches are tough because it’s five rounds, so I have to prepare,” he said.

Loman knows all about being in five-round fights. He was the longest-reigning bantamweight champion in the Middle East before jumping into The Home of Martial Arts.

Now it’s all about getting used to that type of grind again, as he’s gearing up for a possible ONE World Title shot this year.

“When I was with Brave, I was really working double-time during World Title fights. It’s a mentality that I’ve had since then, that hunger to win the championship and make sure I last during those fights,” he said.

“Now it’s all about adding extra rounds during training. It’s all about hard work, training, and focus.”
