P1.6-M shabu seized in Northern Mindanao

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Police seized suspected shabu valued at P1,672,350.20 in a week-long ‘’One Time, Big Time’’ (OTBT) operation in Northern Mindanao from Jan. 23 to 29.

Major Joann Navarro, Police Regional Office 10 spokesperson, said 105 individuals were arrested and a total of 248.7 grams of shabu were seized.

Navarro said 152.460 grams of shabu worth P1,036,968 were seized here, followed by Bukidnon with P428,760; Iligan City with P87,244, and Misamis Oriental with P69,591.20.

The PRO-10 also arrested 197 wanted individuals – 40 most wanted person and 157 other wanted person.

Police also nabbed a former policeman considered as Top 2 in the regional police and PDEA list of suspected drug personalities.

The suspect was identified as Ronald Ariel Gaguan, alias “Otik,” 41.

Gaguan was arrested in Purok-1, Sitio Kilabong, Barangay Vista Villa, Sumilao, Bukidnon on Jan. 27. Suspect yielded 15 grams of suspected valued at P102,000 and various drug paraphernalia.

Brig. Gen. Lawrence Coop, PRO-10 director, in a statement, said the result of their OTBT operation is a reminder to all law offenders to stop doing any illegal activities. Coop assured no let-up in their campaign against illegal drugs.
