400 local, int’l firms joining PH packaging fair

More than 400 local and international companies-exhibitors from 27 countries and regions will showcase the latest technologies in manufacturing, packaging and processing in a Manila fair to help improve the packaging of local products.

Dubbed the ProPak Philippines, the fair to be held on Feb. 1-3, 2023 at the World Trade Center is supported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and other government agencies. Organized by Informa Markets, ProPak is Asia’s foremost trade event for the processing and packaging industries that will focus on three major themes: Sustainability, Automation, and Packaging Design.

Among international pavilions/regions participating in this year’s shows are companies and organizations from Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom.

Joining the event are companies engaged in processing machinery, technology, and materials in the sectors of filling, quality assurance, testing and measurement, maintenance, and their related fields of automation, instrumentation, transportation, refrigeration, storage, and pollution control. Also represented are businesses involved in labeling, printing, water treatment equipment, plastics processing, and wrapping machinery.

"ProPak Philippines comes at a most opportune time when most companies are putting their industrial production back to operation back and commercial activities are opening up after the pandemic. We are very optimistic about the rebound of the Philippine packaging sector,” stated Mark Prakasvudhisarn, Informa Markets events manager.

The show will be highlighted by ProPak Connect, a business-to-business (B2B) online supplier platform and a content hub that facilitates online marketing activities, such as sourcing, networking, interactive product and machine demos, and virtual and hybrid events.

Also featured is Sustainability Square, an interactive exhibitor zone that will show visitors how the packaging industry and extended processing sectors, such as food, beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, among others, adopt to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

The DTI Packaging Awards is an event set at ProPak Philippines to recognize innovative packaging ideas by MSMEs, Women, Youth, PWDs, and IP-led companies, as well as the association pavilions of the Production and Operations Management Association of the Philippines and Philippine Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PROMAP).

The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP), the professional association of packaging experts, trainers and educators, and business leaders will hold free workshops.
