Three men were arrested by the police in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Jan. 27.
The Taguig police identified the suspects as Joshua Sy, 21; Dennis Gayas, 29; and Jowel Cartalla, 29.

At about 10 p.m., operatives from the Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit and Substation 5 conducted a buy-bust operation along J. Cruz Street in Barangay Calzada Tipas in Taguig that resulted in the arrest of the three suspects.
The police recovered nine plastic sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) containing 20 grams with a value of P136,000; 11 plastic sachets with dried leaves and fruiting tops of suspected marijuana weighing 26 grams and valued at P3,120; one .45-caliber pistol; one magazine loaded with five pieces of live ammunition; and P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.
The arrested suspects are under custody of Taguig police while the illegal drugs were turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit.
They will be charged with violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
