2 West African Drug Syndicate members yield P1.7-M shabu in Angeles City drug sting


CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police arrested two suspected members of the West African Drug Syndicate and seized suspected shabu worth over P1.7 million in a buy-bust operation in Angeles City on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen identified the suspects as Nigerians Chekwbe Nnamani Sunday, 28, and Ifeanyi Augustine Chinweuba.

The duo from Sampaloc, Manila was arrested after they sold shabu to a police poseur-buyer in a mall terminal in Barangay Pulung Maragul.

Suspects yielded two rubber-tied plastic bags, two medium-size, heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu weighing approximately 250 grams and valued at P1.7 million, the P1,000 marked money, and nine P1,000 boodle money.

Pasiwen said the suspects are linked to the West African Drug Syndicate.

“We will continue to conduct intelligence operations on drug dealers and users, both foreign and local to eliminate, the supply of illegal drugs across the region,” Pasiwen added.

The WADS often recruit Filipinos to transport illegal drugs across borders.
