Teen, pal brutally killed in Negros

BACOLOD CITY -- A minor and his friend were brutally killed in Purok Pili, Barangay 6, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Friday, Jan. 27.

One of the victims was identified by the Kabankalan Police as Ervin Colorado, 22, while the name of the 16-year-old boy victim was withheld. Both were residents of Barangay Binicuil.

Kabankalan police chief Lt. Col. John Joel Batusbatusan said the victims were found with multiple stab wounds beside a sugarcane field.

The victims were found by some residents who then reported to a barangay official that they heard someone calling for help early that day.

Based on a police report, the minor, who was a Grade 9 student, suffered 26 stab wounds, while Colorado had 17 stab wounds.

Batusbatusan said that one of the victims was found covered with dried sugarcane leaves, while the other was found a few meters away.

He added that the victims were killed in the area, as there were traces of blood.

Batusbatusan said that the victims were last seen alive with a friend.

Policemen are looking into anger as a possible motive in the killing, considering the severe injuries of the victims.

Batusbatusan, however, said they are also not discounting the possibility of a revenge, since the victims had records of alleged theft in Barangay Binicuil.

He said they already have a person of interest.
