PSU mourns death of assistant professor found dead with multiple stab wounds in Pangasinan


PANGASINAN -- The Pangasinan State University (PSU) in Lingayen is in mourning after one of its assistant professors was found dead with multiple stab wounds on Thursday, Jan. 26, in Linoc River in Binmaley.

The PSU at the same time condoled with the family of Mark Lagleva, assistant professor III, whose cadaver was found in Brgy. Linoc.

"We would like to extend our deepest condolences and warm sympathies to the family of Sir Mark Lagleva, Assistant Professor III,” a statement posted on the PSU Lingayen Campus page said.

“Eternal rest grant unto his soul and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul rest in peace,” the statement added.

The statement was issued after the Binmaley Police reported that the cadaver that was found Jan. 26 in Linoc river in Barangay Linoc in Binmaley was that of the assistant professor.

Initial report said that an unidentified male person wearing white t-shirt, with medium body build, more or less 5’3 tall, was seen floating on the said river.

Probers disclosed that around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, a group of minor students waiting for a tricycle going to their school happened to see the body floating in the river.

The victim sustained multiple stabbed wounds on his body and with string tied on his feet, head and body.

A big stone was also recovered inside his t-shirt.

The police are still investigating all the possible angles and possible motives in the killing for the quick arrest of the perpetrator/s.
