32 drug personalities arrested in Iloilo City drug bust

ILOILO CITY -- A total of 32 drug personalities, including the three target drug pushers, were arrested as the authorities raided a village identified to be a drug haven here on Wednesday evening, Jan. 25.

The Police Regional Office (PRO-6) reported that the raiders also confiscated shabu worth P918,000.

PRO-6 identified 47-year-old Alony Leonor, 37-year-old Elmer Leoner, and 30-year-old Jeric Jimena as the main targets in the late Wednesday evening drug bust in Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao district.

The Leonor brothers have been listed by PRO-6’s Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-6) as high-valued drug pushers.

Initially, the brothers sold a sachet of shabu worth P20,000 to an undercover cop in the joint operation by RPDEU-6 and Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO-Station 5.

After they were arrested, another 19 sachets of shabu weighing about 135 grams were seized from them.

Also caught by the operating cops were nine others who were having pot sessions in the premises and the rest of the suspects who were there waiting to buy shabu.

Police Region 6 director Brigadier General Leo Francisco lauded the efforts of the raiding teams, and at the same time warned drug personalities of intensified campaigns against them.

“There will be no letup in our crusade against illegal drugs,” said BGen. Francisco.

“We will further intensify and target high value drug personalities in Western Visayas,” added Francisco.
