Operatives of Station 10 of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) cornered the suspect around 2 p.m. while the suspect was transacting with a poseur-buyer.

Around 8 p.m. on the same day, personnel from Station 6 here seized 1,055 grams of shabu from 21-year-old Vincent Rodriguez.

Maj. Renz Talosig, chief of Station 6, said the packs of shabu that were seized from the suspect were estimated to cost P7,174,000.

The operation took place in Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Pasil.

Talosig said the suspect was known in the area as an e-bike driver, who ferries passengers in exchange for a fee.

It turned out the young man was also into illegal drugs, Talosig said.

Talosig was previously arrested for illegal possession of firearms but was able to post bail.

Brig. Gen. Jerry Bearis, director of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas, lauded the personnel of the two police precincts for the successful anti-illegal drug operations.

Bearis said the police will continue to innovate to come up with more effective strategies in uncovering individuals who are into drug peddling.
