The Philippine Coast Guard and local residents rescued the passengers of motorized boat Prince and Mae as its engine developed trouble around 11 a.m. on Saturday in a vast fishing area in the Visayan Sea.

In its report on Sunday, the PCG said the passengers were all in good physical condition.

It was unclear if the boat was traveling to mainland Carles or to Lantangan, one of the island barangays in the tourism destination of Isla de Gigantes.

With the help of local residents, the PCG-Iloilo was able to locate the distressed boat and tow it to Isla de Gigantes for repair.
