The team announced the development on social media Tuesday, Jan. 10.

“New year! New beginnings! New heights! Let’s all welcome Coach Oliver Almadro as the new head coach of the Petro Gazz Angels!” the post read.

Almadro, who stepped down as Choco Mucho Flying Titans’ head coach last November, will fill in the shoes of Rald Ricafort.

Ricafort, along with assistant coach Arnold Laniog, both signed with the PLDT High Speed Hitters.

Almadro has compiled a 24-27 win-loss record during his six-conference stint with the Flying Titans.

The Angels are coming off a championship run in the Reinforced Conference a few months back and are expected to eclipse their runner-up finish in last season’s Open Conference.
