Rider trying to evade PNP checkpoint caught, suspected shabu found in her motorcycle

SISON, Pangasinan -- A lady rider who was not wearing a protective helmet was flagged down but evaded the authorities, speeding off her motorcycle along the Brgy. Cauringan around 2: 45 a.m. Monday, August 8.

A brief chase ensued but the pursuing cops managed to corner Amor Lumanog, 41, a resident of Brgy. Sagunto, Sison.

While the police were interrogating her, one of the personnel who was trying to check her motorcycle with the use of a flashlight saw a heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing .23 grams of shabu in the right-side compartment. Its value is estimated to be P2,000.

The rider together with the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Sison Police for proper disposition.

Meanwhile, Police Major Maria Teresita Meimban, Sison chief of police, said that investigation is still going on.

“Iniimbestigahan pa namin para malaman kung saan ang source nya at kung sinu- sino pa ang makakasama nito na sangkot sa iligal na gawain (We’re still investigating to determine her source of illegal drugs and her cohorts),” said Major Meimban.
