Cagayan de Oro lifts curfew due to continuous lower alert level status

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- The local government here has lifted the curfew hours period in the city, thanks to the continuing lower alert level status against Covid-19.

The city government on Monday afternoon, June 6, released the Executive Order (EO) No. 104 signed by city mayor Oscar Moreno, where the lifting of the curfew hours is immediately effective.

Presented in the executive order is the city government’s acknowledgement that the city’s average daily attack rate is at 0.17, the two-week growth rate of -52 percent; the total bed utilization rate of 1.52%; and the average health care utilization rate of 1.51 percent.

It can be recalled that the city has been placed under alert level 1 classification since March 1 this year.

Aside from the lower alert status, the EO also stated that there is a need to spur the economic growth of the local government unit (LGU), which has greatly suffered due to the restrictive policies just to contain the spread of the virus.

On the other hand, despite the lifting, the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) and the other law enforcement agencies have been directed to strictly maintain the peace and order under the new relaxed policy.

Cagayan de Oro is the center of trade and commerce in Northern Mindanao (Region 10).
