BBM tackles enhanced cooperation in courtesy call with ASEAN, Italy envoys
President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. met with ambassadors of Italy and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member-countries on Monday, June 6, and discussed future cooperation between the Philippines and these nations.

Specifically, Marcos and the ambassadors discussed future Covid-19 recovery strategies in the health and economic sectors, potential infrastructure-development collaborations, and better private sector relationships between the countries.
They also expressed their respective leaders’ congratulations to the president-elect.

Her Excellency (H.E.) Johairah Wahab of Brunei Darussalam and H.E. Marco Clemente of Italy met with Marcos on the morning of June 6 at the Bongbong Marcos Headquarters (BBM HQ) in Mandaluyong.
Moreover, Wahab–who is the Dean of ASEAN ambassadors–led several other ASEAN envoys including Thawat Sumitmo, Charge D’ Affaires of Thailand; H.E. Songkane Luangmuninthone of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic; H.E. Agus Widjojo in Indonesia; H.E. Phan Peuv of Cambodia; H.E. Hoang Huy Chung of Vietnam; and H.E. Gerard Ho of Singapore during the envoys’ courtesy call.
According to the Marcos camp , Clemente mentioned the possibility of holding in the Philippines a future youth-sports program through the Inter-Milan football club and its “inter-campus” project.
