The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) has endorsed the candidacies of congressional bet Jaime Fresnedi, mayoral candidate Ruffy Biazon, and incumbent Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac in Muntinlupa.
Fresnedi, Biazon, and Simundac belong to the One Muntinlupa political party.
The INC announced on May 4 the local candidates in Muntinlupa that it will support in the May 9 national and local elections.
A source from the INC confirmed to Manila Bulletin that its members in Muntinlupa will support Fresnedi, Biazon, Simundac, and 15 of 16 of One Muntinlupa’s candidates for councilor.

“Taos-pusong pasasalamat po sa basbas at pagtitiwala sa amin ng kapatiran ng Iglesia ni Cristo, sa pangunguna ng Tagapamahalang Pangkalahatan, Ka Eduardo V. Manalo (Our wholehearted thanks for the blessing and trust in us of the brethren of Iglesia ni Cristo led by Executive Minister Ka Eduardo V. Manalo),” Biazon posted on Facebook.
Fresnedi said, “Maraming salamat po kay Ka Eduardo V. Manalo at sa buong kapatiran ng Iglesia ni Cristo sa kanilang suporta at tiwala sa amin (Thank you to Ka Eduardo V. Manalo and to all brethren of Iglesia ni Cristo for their support and trust in us)."
Muntinlupa has two districts and residents in each district will vote for eight councilors.
In Muntinlupa’s District 1, the INC has chosen to support the following One Muntinlupa bets for councilor: Rachel Arciaga, Ivee Arciaga, Paty Katy Boncayao, Allan Camilon, Raul Corro, Alexson Diaz and Jedi Presnedi. The other candidate INC is supporting is Melchor Teves, a former councilor who is running under the People’s Reform Party (PRP).

In District 2, the INC has endorsed all the eight One Muntinlupa candidates for councilor: Lester Baes, Ryan Bagatsing, Luvi Constantino, Arlene Hilapo, Eliot Martinez, Dado Moldez, Marissa Rongavilla and Jun Metong Sevilla.

Fresnedi, who is in his last term as mayor, is running for congressman against Silverio Garing of PDP-Laban.
Biazon, the current congressman, is running for mayor against Red Mariñas of the People’s Reform Party (PRP) and independent candidates Nelson Benjamin and Oscar Marmeto.
Simundac is seeking reelection as vice mayor against Oyo Boy Dioko of PRP.
According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Muntinlupa has a total of 311,750 registered voters.
