BBM Vlog deep-dive: Bongbong explains significance of his ballot number

Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos has been using vlogs to reach as wide an audience as possible ahead of the May 9, 2022 elections. With now over 200 of these vlogs posted on his YouTube channel, a scouring of noteworthy snippets in these videos is in order.

In BBM Vlog no.209, Bongbong shared the significance of the number seven (7), which is his number on the ballots in the upcoming May 9 elections.

It turns out that the number is quite special to the political family from Ilocos Norte.

"Yung siyete, noong panahon pa ng aking ama, tinuturing na niya yan na swerte. Lucky number niya yung seven (The number seven, during the time of my dad, was considered by him as lucky. Seven was his lucky number)," Bongbong said, referring to the late strongman President Ferdinand Marcos.

"Nagkataon, dito sa eleksyon na ito panay ang litaw ng numerong seven. Yung naging number ko sa balota nasama na yan sa swerte (It just so happens that the number seven keeps popping up in this election. My number on the ballot has been laced with luck)," added the former senator.

Suffice it to say that the late president is a very influential figure in the life of Bongbong, who is now 64 and--according to pundits and Palace race surveys--on the cusp of becoming a "majority president ".

Bongbong's running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, is also seemingly on the path toward a majority victory in the vice presidential contest based on survey figures.
