'Reborn Rich' tops favorite TV show survey, sets record for highest percentage in 10 years

“Reborn Rich,” the drama starring Song Joong-ki and Lee Sung-min, topped the survey for favorite TV shows in Korea in December 2022 and achieved the highest percentage preference in 10 years, surpassing the record set by “Extraordinary Attorney Woo.”

Polling firm Gallup Korea released the results of the survey for Favorite TV Program for December 2022. It was conducted from Dec. 13 to 15 among 1,001 people in Korea aged 18 and above.

“Reborn Rich” grabbed the No. 1 spot with 16.6 percent, the highest percentage set in 10 years since January 2013 among all channels and genres for favorite TV programs.

The percentage achieved by “Reborn Rich” surpassed the 16.4 percent set by “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” in the same survey for August 2022.

It also eclipsed the record set by the former TV entertainment program “Infinite Challenge,” which garnered 16 percent voter preference in the January 2015 survey.

According to Gallup Korea, the Korean dramas that exceeded 10 percent voter preference in the last 10 years are:

- “Seoyoung, My Daughter” - 10.6% (January 2013), 12.2% (February 2013)

- “My Love from the Star” - 11.5% (February 2014)

- “Empress Ki” - 10.8% (March 2014), 11.8% (April 2014)

- “Jang Bo-ri Is Here” - 12.1% (September 2014)

- Descendants of the Sun” - 12.3% (March 2016)

- “Goblin” - 12.6% (January 2017)

- “SKY Castle” - 13% (January 2019)

- “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” - 13.1 (July 2022), 16.4% (August 2022).

Here are the Favorite TV Programs in Korea for December 2022, according to Gallup Korea:

1. “Reborn Rich” (drama) - 16.6%

2. “The Love In Your Eyes” (drama) - 3.9%

3. “Under the Queen's Umbrella” (drama) - 3.5%

4. “Vengeance of the Bride” (drama) - 2.6%

5. “Three Bold Siblings” (drama) - 2.4%

6. “You Quiz on the Block” (entertainment) - 2.2%

7. “Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow” (drama) - 2%

8. “World Theme Travel” (current affairs and culture) - 1.9%

9. “2 Days & 1 Night” (entertainment) - 1.8%

10. “The First Responders” (drama) - 1.7%

“I Am a Natural Person” (current affairs and culture) - 1.7%

“Running Man” (entertainment) - 1.7%
