DPWH Central Luzon completes new sports facility in Aurora


The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Monday, Dec. 26, that it has completed the construction of a Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in San Luis, Aurora which will be ready for the use of the public and sports enthusiasts.

DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said that the P24.5 million Bacong Sports Center has a 1.76-square-kilometer indoor court and 785.61-square-meter outdoor court which could be used by tennis, volleyball, basketball, and sepak takraw players.

The project also involves the construction of two comfort rooms for men and women for the convenience of the users.

District Engineer Roderick Andal stated that the provision of such facilities in Barangay Bacong aims to encourage young people to engage in sports activities, and promote an active and healthy lifestyle to the residents in the community.

Aside from hosting sporting events, Andal said that the Bacong Sports Center may also serve as a venue for various public service activities and evacuation center during calamities.
