‘Wednesday’ Addams scores 2nd week record on Netflix; now third on most popular list


 Wednesday Addams has captured audiences worldwide again on Netflix. 

The mystery series “Wednesday” on Netflix has topped again the weekly Global Top 10 of the most watched shows and films on the streaming platform.

According to Netflix, “Wednesday” garnered 411.29 million hours viewed from Nov. 28 to Dec. 4 to top the English TV show list for the second week and become the most watched title during the period. 

Last week, “Wednesday” debuted at No. 1 on the Netflix chart for Nov. 21 to 27 with 341.23 million hours viewed. 

In two weeks, the series accumulated a total of 752.52 million hours viewed to rank third to date on Netflix’s Most Popular English-language TV, or the most viewed titles in the first 28 days on the platform, behind “Stranger Things 4,” which had 1.35 billion hours viewed and “DAHMER: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” which had 856.22 million hours viewed. 

With two more weeks to go, “Wednesday” may rise on the most popular list. 

According to Netflix, since its premiere, “Wednesday,” starring Jenna Ortega, has been watched by nearly 115 million households worldwide (752.25M hours viewed divided by 6.8 hours). 

Netflix added the impact of “Wednesday” on various channels. It said the #WednesdayAddams hashtag has over 12 billion views on TikTok while the “Wednesday soundtrack” is #1 on iTunes Soundtrack chart.

In addition, Netflix said: 

- On Spotify, “Goo Goo Muck” byThe Cramps has seen a streaming increase of more than 9,500 percent compared to the previous month

- Fan generated content of Wednesday’s dance routine with “Bloody Mary” by Lady Gaga has gone viral across social media and led to a streaming increase of more than 1,800 percent of the song compared to the previous month on Spotify

- Wednesday’s viral makeup look has been searched by more than 84 million fans on TikTok

- Wednesday products are in high demand with select items selling out at retailers like Hot Topic, MAC and Cakeworthy.

Meanwhile, on Netflix chart’s non-English TV list, the Korean drama “Reborn Rich” starring Song Joong-ki ranked sixth in its second week in the top 10 with 12.07 million hours viewed.
