ILOILO CITY – Twenty-five policemen wed in a mass wedding in Camp Delgado, the headquarters of the Police Regional Office-6, coinciding with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday, Dec. 8.

“We are celebrating the solemnity of marriage among our own,” said Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, director of the PRO-6.

The 25 policemen and their wives took their vow before Rev. Fr. Mark Virgil Ibardolaza, PRO-6 chaplain, at the chapel of Camp Delgado here.

“The PNP values the love for God, selfless love, the love for service. But we also recognize that marriage is a choice and a commitment,” added Francisco.

The region’s top cop advised the newly-weds on how to maintain a long lasting marriage.

The mass wedding was the brainchild of the PRO-6 Officers Ladies Club (OLC) led by its president Mrs. Indira Gorero and adviser Mrs. Pinky Lyn Francisco.

A second mass wedding is planned in Camp Delgado for Valentine’s Day next year.

Meanwhile, the PRO-6 OLC also conducted an outreach program in Jordan town, Guimaras last Wednesday, Dec. 7.
