Zamboanga City mayor named Mindanao NEDA Regional Development Committee chairman


ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Mayor John Dalipe is the new chairperson of the Mindanao National Economic and Economic Authority (NEDA) Regional Development Committee after a reorganizational meeting of the panel in Davao City on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Cotabato Gov. and RDC 12 chairwoman Lala Taliño-Mendoza was designated co-chairperson.

The primary role of the Regional Developmenrt Committee is to formulate and monitor the implementation of policies that reduce regional growth disparities and promote equitable allocation of resources among regions.

This is the second regional leadership position held by Dalipe since he was elected into office in May.

Last October, President Bongbong Marcos appointed Dalipe as chairman of the Regional Development Council-9 (Zamboanga Peninsula).

Dalipe was nominated as one of three candidates during the RDC-9’s 178th regular and reorganizational meeting in Pagadian City.

Dalipe bested three other nominees: Zamboanga del Sur Gov. Victor Yu, Pagadian City Mayor Samuel Co, and Dapitan City Mayor Seth Jalosjos.
