The 11-year NBA veteran who most notably played for Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors, through a recent tweet, hinted his interest in playing in the Philippine shore.

“Pba are y’all ready for swaggy Philippines lets make it happen,” said the 37-year-old one-time NBA champion in a tweet which immediately garnered thousands of reactions and retweets.

The tweet came weeks after he first expressed his interest in playing in Asia following the move of former NBA star and veteran big man Dwight Howard to the T1 League in Taiwan.

“I wanna play again one last go, @DwightHoward can I be yo team,” Young first tweeted.

Interestingly, it was Meralco import KJ McDaniels who floated the idea of Young playing in the PBA after replying to that very same tweet.

“Come and play in the @PBAConnect,” tweeted McDaniels.

Leagues in Asia have become one of the likely destinations for players who are already out of the NBA but got a new lease of life in China, Taiwan and Japan.

The PBA, in fact, isn’t actually stranger to former NBA players playing as imports with McDaniels being one, having played with TNT, NLEX and recently Meralco, after his stint with Houston Rockets in the NBA.

In the ongoing Commissioner’s Cup, a good number of imports have an experience playing in the NBA led by Bay Area’s Myles Powell, Converge’s Quincy Miller, Meralco’s first import choice Johnny O’Bryant, and NLEX’s Earl Clark.
