Moto grabs early lead in Fil-Am Invitational

BAGUIO CITY —  Moto, getting a pair of 24s from Manolito Basmayor and Roy Gayoba, tallied 82 points to take a three-point lead in the Am-C kicking off the regular tournament of the 72nd Fil-Am Men’s Invitational at the Baguio Country Club Tuesday, Dec. 6, here.

Also scoring for Moto were Nelson Roa and Ariel Mula who shot identical 18 as they upstaged Baguio Country Club Team-2.

Contributing to BCC Team-2’s 79 were Isonn Angheng (22), Terence John Farrell (20), Earle Terrence Farrell (19) and Politico Mayos (18).

Green Jacket Golf Club pooled 77 as Noel Marcellano and Jopet Cadiz turned in 22 and 21, respectively. Hector Magpantay and Adolfo Basco each added a 17.

Camp John Hay Team-2 signed for 73 followed by Summit Point Team-2 66, Januarius Team-2 5, Avanti Transports/Laguna Ice 60, Central Florida VST 56, FOTC Glen Eagles Team-2 55, Waterlympics Pampanga 54 and LMG Construction 52.

In Am-E, Bibak NY/NJ/iGolfers Team-2 raced to a seven-point lead after producing 64 points. Chaharo Galang led the team with with 20 and was backed by Edgar Armas (18), Mario Manzano (14) and Edwin Killip (12).

Team Surigao Siargao assembled 57 points behind the 17 of Norman Madrid, 15 Ely Polinag, 13 of Arthur Edrosa 13 and with 12 of either Benjamin Montilla or Renato Estera.
