11 drug pushers busted in weeklong operations in Cordillera


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Eleven drug personalities were arrested in a weeklong police anti-illegal drugs operation conducted from Nov. 27 to Dec. 3 in Cordillera region.

Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, regional director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera, said records from the Regional Operations Division (ROD) showed the Baguio City Police Office (CPO) arrested five drug personalities while Kalinga Police Provincial Office (PPO) arrested four drug personalities and Benguet PPO and Ifugao PPO one drug personality each.

In Baguio City, the arrested drug personalities were identified as Tommy Ladiocan, 50; Mark Edrick Rafer, 35; Audrey Josh Monsalud, 25; Michael George Ventenilla, 27; and Ephraim Yango, 36.

In Kalinga, the arrested drug personalities were identified as Albert Dugwawi, 29; Christian Gragasin, 29; Richard Arugay, 33; and Eugene Mandilag, 28.

Jerbin Velasco, 37, was arrested in Benguet while Jhim Bala-oy, 20, was arrested in Ifugao.

The weeklong anti-illegal drugs operation conducted has also resulted in the seizure of a total of 2.37 grams of shabu and 48.001 grams of marijuana leaves and fruiting tops with an overall Standard Drug Price of P5,776,236.

All arrested suspects are now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Also, in a separate anti-illegal drug operation, seven marijuana plantation sites were discovered in the municipality of Bakun and Kibungan in Benguet.
