Pasay police arrest 2nd suspect in Korean's robbery-slay


Pasay City police arrested the second suspect in the robbery and killing of a Korean during a follow-up operation in Laguna on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Col. Byron Tabernilla, city police chief, said Prince Eleazar Datingguinoo Tupas was arrested around 3:20 a.m. in Barangay Pulo, Landayan, San Pedro, Laguna.

Tupas’ companion, identified as Jerome Quinones Caratao, was first arrested at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday in Primero de Mayo, Barangay 90, Pasay City.

The city police chief said the duo shot dead Lee Seung Hoon, 45, during a robbery bid along the service road of Roxas Boulevard, in front of Lacson Residence, Pasay City on Friday.

Tabernilla said based on the CCTV footage, the victim was walking around 4:30 a.m. when the suspects appeared and announced the holdup.

He said the victim reportedly resisted, prompting the suspects to shoot him.

The suspects then boarded a tricycle and fled toward Williams Street.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound in the back of the body and was declared on arrival at San Juan de Dios Hospital.

The arrested suspects are now detained at the police custodial facility and will be charged with robbery with homicide.
