Aside from portraying happy Christmas scenes, ever wonder how these celebrities live their holiday spirit?

Wearing matching pajamas and binge-watching Christmas movies.

There is no right — or wrong — way to get into the holiday spirit, and many celebrities have shared their favorite traditions during the special season.

Reese Witherspoon (Facebook)

Reese Witherspoon: "One of my favorite things about this time of year is decorating gingerbread houses with my kids," she wrote via Instagram in December 2021. "Well… ok… we mostly eat the candy. ? ? .”

Kate Hudson (Instagram)

Kate Hudson: "Every year, Santa comes and leaves presents for the kids out in the open. The first thing we all do is look in our stockings and look at what Santa's been noticing about our year. Santa is very clever, and he's very funny, so he likes to give the adults very funny presents!"

The actress and her kids also leave treats for Santa every year.

Gwyneth Paltrow (Instagram)

Gwyneth Paltrow: "I do a lot of the cooking before Christmas, but then I usually spend a lot of Christmas cooking too," she shared.

From becoming a master chef in the kitchen, Gwyneth also loved the spirit of the traditional Christmas.

"All the smells, the mulled wine, all the trimmings for the turkey. We like to have all the family around. A very traditional Christmas," Gwyneth added.

Gwyneth's youngest son Moses also likes to be involved in the kitchen with his mom.

"My kids are very involved in the kitchen with me, especially my son . He loves to cook, and he's very engaged when we do it — he has a lot of patience for it, and it's adorable. He helps me measure, cracks eggs perfectly, he's very good."

Gaten Materrazo (Instagram)

Gaten Materazzo: "My family has always done a secret Santa with all the grandkids. There are 10 of us, so it's always fun getting to see which one of your cousins you're going to get. Also, it helps not get gifts for nine other people."

Millie Bobby Brown (Instagram)

Millie Bobby Brown: On Dec. 25, 2021 the "Stranger Things" star shared a snap from her first Christmas with boyfriend Jake Bongiovi, the son of famed musician Jon Bon Jovi.

They were romantically involved in June and made their relationship public in November.

John Legend (Facebook)

John Legend: For John Legend and his family, it's all about fast food! "Christmas Day is more like ordering McDonald's and going to the movies. It's a very lazy day," she said.

The Teigen and Legend families have a traditional laid-back Christmas.

Mindy Kaling (Facebook)

Mindy Kaling: "We always read 'The Night Before Christmas.' Last year my daughter was too little and didn't care," Mindy shared in an interview.

"But this year, she'll be able to get it more. And I've been talking it up a little bit. So we'll do that. And I always watch 'You've Got Mail' on Christmas because it's one of my favorite movies. She's a little too little to enjoy that. But I would like, when she gets older, to make her watch that with me."

Kristen Bell (Facebook)

Kristen Bell: One road trip is quickly becoming a tradition for the Bell-Shepard family, joined by their friends and family. Kristine and Dax like going on the road during the holiday season.

"We have a few families out here that we're friends with, all people our age that now have kids. And when you don't get to see them over the holidays, you want to have a friend's Christmas or holiday celebration," Kristine said in her interview.

Ariana Grande (Facebook)

Ariana Grande: During a radio interview, Ariana opened up about Christmas in the Grande household.

"The first thing I do every Christmas is go to the kitchen and see what my nonna is cooking because she likes to cook Italian dishes. And it's nice to celebrate with them because we have a loud Italian family, and we play a lot of pokers every Christmas," she mentioned.

Dolly Parton (Facebook)

Dolly Parton: "We watch 'It's a Wonderful Life' every year like everybody does! I love watching that movie with my family," she mentioned in her interview.

Aside from watching a classic Christmas film, Dolly also has another tradition called "Cookie Night," where she dresses up as Santa Claus and hosts a dinner party with her family on Christmas Day.
