“This would add joy and meaning to our Christmas celebrations,” said Governor JC Rahman Nava after leading Friday’s switch-on of the Christmas lights at the Capitol Grounds in the provincial capital of Jordan town.

Dubbed as ‘Paskwa sa Isla,’ the Friday to Sunday events this December will have a series of activities at the Capitol Grounds that will bring together residents from the five towns: Buenavista, Jordan, Nueva Valencia, San Lorenzo, and Sibunag.

Aside from Christmas lights, there will be food festival, live musical performances, a trade fair, a Christmas costume party, and a biking challenge for islanders to enjoy.

Starting Dec. 9, Guimaras mangoes will be sold until supplies last.

The island province’s mangoes are known to be one of the world’s sweetest varieties.

On Dec. 16, it will be a ‘Bangus Day’ highlighting fresh milkfish produced in Guimaras.
